Melissa has been practicing Nan Shaolin Wuzuquan for over 17 years since 2000 with Grandmaster Kim Sen Han. She had always been heavily interested in martial arts since she was a young toddler when her father trained and practiced the art with Grandmaster Kim Sen Han in the 70s and 80s.
She was awarded her 2nd degree black belt in 2009 and is highly proficient and skilled in forms and weaponry.
She has developed her practice to encompass elements of Wujiquan as taught by Mir Abbas Ali with a focus on sparring (both full contact and weapons).
Melissa has taught women’s self-defense classes and also assisted with teaching and leading Grandmaster Kim Sen Han’s former London classes for many years. She has also been teaching with Andrew at The Focus Room since 2015.
Melissa also practices Lumpat Harimau Silat and is an accredited and qualified KEWAP (Knives and Edged Weapons Awareness Program) instructor.
